Dear Parents,

This is a letter of invitation to come and check out our Daycare! You may have concerns about whether or not your child is old enough, big enough, or ready for daycare, but not to worry, our quality daycare is designed to set up young scholars for future academic, emotional, and social success.

Here are a few reasons why you should consider enrolling your child(ren) in Prairie Christian Academy's Daycare Program:

  1. Daycare is an opportunity for social growth. In order to learn, a young child needs to feel comfortable, cared for, and secure with a teacher or caregiver. A 3-year-old child is able to spend time away from parents and build trusting relationships with other children and adults outside of the family circle.
  2. Daycare prepares children for kindergarten. At the age of 3 and 4, their motor skills, language, and even pre-math and literacy skills all start to really develop. At Sprouts Daycare, we value a child's readiness to learn and create space where children can enhance their skills. Here, they will also learn to take care of themselves and others. Their sense of competence and self-worth grow as they learn to engage in "real work" by having a variety of opportunities each day.
  3. Our daycare is an extension of both Prairie Christian Academy and Faith Alive Family Church and thus shares the same Biblical beliefs and value system that promotes love for God and love for people. It's a great foundation for your child as they begin their educational journey!

Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to promote healthy growth and development throughout a child's early years. Your child will benefit from programs that encourage creativity, imagination, language, literacy confidence, and independence.

Children spend time each day learning about letters of the alphabet and their phonetic sounds, counting, number basics, and activities that involve hand-eye coordination. Add to this a peaceful atmosphere with Bible-Based values and you have a winning combination!

Meet The Staff

Director

Kerry Smith

Kerry is originally from Jamaica, she joined the teaching profession in 2009 and taught in Jamaica for 6 years before moving to Raleigh, North Carolina (NC) in 2016. While there, she was blessed to work with an amazing team led by fantastic administrators for 7 years. She then relocated to Saskatoon in 2022 along with her husband, Frantz, daughter, Kayla, and new puppy Echo. They quickly adjusted to their new life in Saskatchewan!

As an individual who has lived and worked in 3 countries, Kerry is passionate about working with children and families from other cultures.

Assistant

Kaylene Van Der Haar

Originally from South Africa, Kaylene and her family immigrated to Canada in 2017.

She and her husband, Dane, have three boys. She spends her days caring for her family and helping her boys pursue their soccer dreams as she spends time on the soccer field with them in all seasons.

She finds joy and fulfillment in teaching her kids about the Word of God and using creative methods to help them learn to memorize Scripture.

She and her family enjoy watching movies and spending quality time together.

In South Africa, Kaylene and her husband ran a successful Early Childhood Development Center that housed up to 40 kids (ages 3-5). This business was a blessing to them and gave Kaylene a greater love to work with kids, and most importantly, facilitate growth and development in many different ways.
